Proving Des Moines is NOT boring

Why eat at a chain Wednesday: Iowa Foodie

Well, I hate it when this happens, but I have nothing to review for today’s post. I know, shame on me for not eating at a new local establishment this past week. Shame on me for not supporting my local brethren with the mighty dollar. I have no excuses, although I was under the weather and extremely busy, but none the less I have done the next best thing – provided reference to another fantastic food blog.

The Iowa Foodie blog was started by Grant and Amy as a means for them to express their passion of food. They have been reviewing like local restaurants some time, focusing on their experience in the restaurant industry and providing much more of the visual stimuli than I normally do. They also have a great Dine Around Des Moines page that incorporates a list of restaurants all the restaurants they have reviewed in alphabetical order, which I am really jealous about because that is something I should do.

I’ve linked to their most recent review which just happens to be of A Dong, an establishment I reviewed just about this same time last year. Their review really makes me hungry because they took a picture if nearly all of their food, the most appealing of which to me is their picture of the Spring Rolls, which I placed above. Darn those look good.

So, while I hope you will not forget about our weekly feature – that we have been doing for more than two years – that we put our blood sweat and tears into…. Have I torn at your heart strings yet? While I hope you will not leave us forever, I know there are many other local bloggers out there who do a better job than I do featuring all the great food we have in Des Moines and featuring our local establishments.

By the way! Did you see the piece Diane Sawyer did that featured many local businesses while she was in Iowa this past weekend? I’ve added it below in case you missed it:
