Jet Set Studio recently announced that the largest video game tournament in Iowa will be hosted in downtown Des Moines on March 17-18, 2012.
The Iowa Pro Gaming Challenge (#TIPGC on Twitter) is a regional video game event. It has been established as an annual destination for gamers all around the country. For the third annual event this year, TIPGC 2012 will offer three video game divisions that include: 4v4 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, 4v4 Gears of War 3, and 4v4 Halo: Reach.
The official tournament website, www.IowaProGamingChallenge.com, showcases more information about this upcoming event, links to their live stream, highlights from past events, prize package information, and team registration – which is now available online. Each game division does have a limit for teams allowed, so if you’re looking to get involved, act now.
For those not competing, TIPGC offers a Spectator Pass for $10. This gives you access to all the video gaming action and even a bar serving green beer, as this is also St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
Fans are also invited to interact with a professionally produced and fully commentated live stream that is projected to bring over 350,000 online viewers. The owner of Jet Set Studio and Des Moines native, Ben McDougal, said that the “TIPGC live stream is really what makes this event so unique. Along with 500+ attendees that will represent more than 15 different states, bringing the national video gaming spotlight to Des Moines is something special.”
Head over to All Play in downtown this March and check out one of the most unique events we have in our fine city of Des Moines, The Iowa Pro Gaming Challenge.

I went to The Iowa Pro Gaming Challenge (#TIPGC) last year, and already have my ticket to go this year. This is such a great event and it really does help bring attention to Iowa and Des Moines. Last year we had attendees from over 14 different states and viewers in every state! This is great for the Des Moines community, and overall this event is a lot of fun! I highly recommend checking out the website and consider going to this if you have not already!!
I have been there for the past two years. It is certainly one of the most creative events built in Des Moines, with the heart of Des Moines, which is in it’s self a community thriving with creativity. Stop by, have green beer, watch growing entertainment in Des Moines and be apart of the gaming experience. I will.
sounds fun ill come check it out .. hit me up if you need some music !
This is going to be a great event. I plan on dominating Call of Duty then grabbing some cocktails on Court Ave and the East Village!
Nice to see stuff like this happening in Des Moines. I know there are a lot of gamers out there who play these three games all day long. Why not come out, have some fun, and maybe even win some prizes? It should be a blast.
Anyone who loves playing video games competitively and enjoys a challenge should go to TIPGC. I went last year and had a blast! Got to talk with a couple pro’s as well(being Ninja and Mimic). It was a great experience. Even if you don’t want to play you can still have a great time watching and talking with other players about their experiences.
I’ve been to the Iowa Pro Gaming Challenge both years and I can say that it is a great event! My team won the Call of Duty division last year and the prizes were amazing! Each player won money as well as high profile gaming gear that came in around $600 in cash and prizes per player! This event has only gotten better as the years have passed and no doubt will this one be even better than last year!
Wow this looks fun as hell
Des Moines was one of the best places i have tripped to for a gaming event..the city is nice..amazing night life and awesome people!
Looking forward to being a part of the livestream commentators for this event for the Halo section. I have heard so many great things about this event and i can’t wait to finally be around all these avid midwest gamers! Everyone come on out to TIPGC and be a part of the experience!

So excited to attend this event. I made the trek from Kansas City to Des Moines last year for TIPGC, and loved it. Great venue, great people, and all around professionalism. If you like video games, competing, and meeting new people, then come to the event. Have to represent the Halo Reach community!
I went to TIPGC last year as a warm up before the MLG opener in Dallas. My teammates from Arkansas came up for the tournament. It was one of the greatest times I have ever had. The people were great it was nicely organized. It is a great place to meet people and just have a great time. I strongly suggest checking it out. I don’t suggest expecting to win, because some crazy stuff goes on and uproars are caused.
Not a huge gamer but I caught this last year. VERY fun and well organized. How can you beat watching all the action of 100+ people competing while sipping on a cold beer! I just picked up an Xbox so I could enter this year!! Looking forward to being a part of the fun this year. Even if you don’t sign up, stop by and check it out–well worth your time.
Last year was my first year attending and my team actually ended up winning the Halo Reach competition. The tournament was very well organized and had amazing staff!! Definitely attending again!!
I cant wait to go in march!!! very excited!!! Been wanting to go for 2 years!!! Very friendly community <3
oops its http://www.youtube.com/HaleyBabyxx :p
TIPGC is such a great event. Not only for the players – but the community as well. There’s nothing like great to see gamers from around the region get together for a great cause. I’m sure it’s going to be a great event like it has been for years past. Best of luck to all the players!
I attended IPGC about two years ago and traveled 15 hours in order to do so. It was definitely worth my time and I had an amazing weekend, I just wish it was longer than two days!
Becoming one of the most popular and competitive tournaments not just on a regional level, but a national one. The teams heading that way this year are some of the best in the world at what the do! Should be a great show this year! Don’t miss out!
Went to this last year and had a great experience and my team is already signed up for it again this year. Anyone from Iowa who is a dedicated gamer and wanting a good challenge but can not afford going to all the major league gaming events should totally come to this. Pros have gone, Semi pros have gone, and of course your average gamer goes. It’s fun all around.
This event is great for eSports.. but more importantly it is great for the midwest! There are so many ‘big’ events happening in the industry on the west or east coast or in TX.. but those in the industry overlook how great the midwest can be for eSports. Des Moines is a perfect location for this and each year the event grows.
im happy to see an event like this in desmoines!!!!!!!thank you!
I’ve never seen anything like this in Des Moines or elsewhere. It’s a great event for people who love gaming, but are not professional gamers. I’ve been to the tournament the last two years and will be attending this year as well!
The iowa Pro gaming challenge was a great experience last year! it was good to learn the feel of what a tournament is like what competition is really like. also great because its around our area and its awesome to have something like this going on in our area for us gamers. i can’t wait for TIPGC 2012 so stoked counting down the days! can’t wait to see you all there
Great event organized by a great guy. Check it out.
TIPGC is such a legit event for Des Moines!!! Great location, great selection of games, and with Jet Set Studio and Ben McDougal…who could ask for a better host. I can’t wait to come check this out. This is definitely a must attend event every year!!!
Coming from Mr. 515 Alive himself, this means a lot Brad. Thanks for your ongoing support and we’ll see you in March!
