Crossroads: Day 2

Here’s one more annual event for Des Moines that’s bringing us national tour acts and their concert goers that are dropping in on our city this weekend.  The Crossroads Entertainment and Art Experience finds no reason why the festival season needs to disappear just because it’s now December.  They’ve combined several locations from across the city to hold the venue indoors and play host to our guests.

Yesterday’s events kicked-off with seminars on the arts and film and got everyone warmed up as to what’s still to come.  Now as the festival makes its natural two-day progression, it will be time to turn it up (the volume?!) tonight as the music showcasings take place.

Our very own Des Moines Social Club serves as one of the main venues tonight for what will include… “10 musical acts this year! Including: Mary McAdams, Brother Trucker, The Speedbumps, The Anytime, DD Sparks, Cashes Rivers, Alexis Stevens, Giano, Modoc and The Magazines. Also meet the artists, as the DMSC is filled with new visual art from 20 up & comers. Get there early, you don’t want to miss food tastings from three premier Chefs who have created samples using local food products. Also try the newest offerings from Boulevard, New Belgium, Pearl Vodka and Jasper Winery.”

Des Moines found as many ways as it could this year to bring us new forms of music and art.  Crossroads is no exception to this, as the team of individuals putting this on has been in months of preparation.  For tonight’s show, tickets can be purchased for $10 advance through Iowatix.com or at the door for $15.  Check here for the full schedule.
