Social Painting

If you’re running out of indoor activities this winter, try a social painting class. There are several in Des Moines and a brand new one just opened!

Each social painting class has its difference in prices, locations and types of food and beverages offered. Here are the details of each place.

Pinot’s Palette-

The newest social canvas classes are held in a fun studio off 42nd across from La Mie. Their classes range form $30-$45 and allow you to bring your own food and drink. They provide plates, utensils, corkscrews and glasses for all your culinary delights.

Wine and Canvas

20140228_204621Get out of the house and out of the studio, because Wine and Canvas events are hosted all over town at places like Champs, Mimi’s Café and Jasper Winery. The events are $35-$45 and food and drink specials are available for purchase at the locations. If you’re interested in an event for you and the kiddos check out their Cookies & Canvas options!

El Arte Uncorked

Armed with a masters in art education and art therapist certification, Connie Pruitt has the skills to whip anyone into Picasso. Classes are $40 and she also specializes in private parties and kid’s paintings. Her studio also offers wine glass painting classes! Drink and food are available at the Overtime Pub, or it’s BYOB for private parties.

The Social Canvas

Located in Waukee, these guys have a great variety of paintings prices ranging from $25-$40. They provide wine, beer, mimosas and champagne for purchase and you can bring your own snacks. The Social Canvas also has fundraiser painting nights and Canvas & Kool Aid Class for younger audiences.

Glazed Expressions

This Des Moines mainstay offers pottery, glass making and canvas parties at their fun studio! Painting sessions cost $43. The art parties are BYOB and snacks!
