This Friday night marks the third installment of HUE at the Des Moines Art Center. HUE is Art Noir’s hue themed party and emerald is the color that was chosen for this event. The lobby of the Art Center will be “transformed by light and color into an emerald spectacle” and guests are encouraged to wear colorful attire.
If you need a little emerald inspiration be sure to check out Art Noir’s Pinterest page. If seeing the Art Center bathed in emerald light isn’t enough to entice you there will also be dancing, a hue themed cocktail, a cash bar, and light bites. This is also your chance to be the first to check out the new Jesper Just exhibition This is a Landscape of Desire which officially opens to the public on March 7th. Jesper Just is a Danish video artist who makes moody and atmospheric films that often have unresolved storylines. This exhibition will show This is a Landscape of Desire, Just’s latest piece, as well as the most significant pieces from the last ten years of his career.
There will be a short tour of the Jesper Just show on Friday night as well. HUE takes place on March 7th from 7-9:30pm and costs $15, or just $10 for members. Admission includes a cocktail and appetizers. For more information be sure to check out the Des Moines Art Center’s website or the Facebook event page.
