New Years’ Eve 2013 in Des Moines

New Years’ Eve is always tough. It can be a bit overwhelming to have to decide what to do, and who to make plans with, and even what to wear, sometimes it seems like it might be easier to just stay home and watch the ball drop on television. Luckily this year there are number of wonderful options to choose from. Here are just three of the many New Year’s Eve parties that look promising.

The Bash: New Year’s Eve at the Firehouse

As many of you probably know The Des Moines Social Club has been working hard to renovate their new home in an old firehouse at 900 Mulberry Street. The Bash will be a wonderful way to kick off the New Year at the Social Club. Full programing  at the new space should begin in early 2014. Des Moines has a lot to look forward to! The Bash will feature performances by Doomtree, 
Annalibera,
 Canby,
 Max Jury,
 MaryBeth Doran,
 DMI Breakaz,
 Opera 8,
 Slam Poets, and
 DJ Tone Zone. The Bash will also have a 3D photo booth, interactive art activities, aerial performances, and much more. Tickets are on sale now for $20. The Bash is an 18+ event and starts at 8pm.

New Year’s Eve Throwdown at Vaudeville Mews

If you’re looking for a more low key way to celebrate then head down to Vaudeville Mews for the 3rd annual New Year’s Eve Throwdown. DJ Hogwild and DJ Nastynovich will be spinning tunes that are guaranteed to make you “groove your rubber butt.” The New Year’s Eve Throwdown in only $5 and starts at 9pm.

Pressure Drop New Year’s Eve Party at Gas Lamp

New Year’s Eve marks the return of Pressure Drop, the best all vinyl dance party in town featuring DJ Eight Ten who will be spinning Rhythm, Blues, Soul, Funk, and Reggae. Get there early as this party will fill up fast. Pressure drop starts at 9pm and is $10.
