Proving Des Moines is NOT boring

TEDx Des Moines Prepares its “Shift” Focus for a Packed House

The popular global events known as TEDx will have their next production in Des Moines this Sunday as it explores the new theme of “Shift”.  This will mark our city’s 4th annual TEDx in addition to the TEDxYOUTH events that have also been taking place.

Tedx Des Moines Even though it’s natural for those of us around the technology and startup community to gravitate to events like TED and its spin-off TEDx, the various crowds that attend will show that it reaches far beyond that.  The combined focus on Technology, Entertainment & Design has found its way of opening the door to broader discussions and new views of our surrounding world.  If someone can inspire us to think different and with a new passion towards innovation, then chances are they may hit the list of featured speakers.

The event is now sold out, reaching capacity of its combined venue of the Des Moines Public Library and the Temple of Performing Arts.  Organizer Alexander Grgurich told me that people can still apply for a ticket to be on the wait list, which will guarantee them advance notice for the next event.  For those who were fortunate enough to get a ticket, lunch will be included, along with breakfast food from Gateway Market and coffee from Mars Cafe.  The day’s schedule will be as follows:
