If you’re in town this weekend and trying to fill your Saturday night, you need to be at Brenton Skating Plaza for the 10th anniversary of 515 Alive. If you hear the words ‘electronic music’ and think, “That doesn’t sound like something for me,” trust me, I think you’ll be surprised. If you’ve listened to any Top 40 radio station over the past year or two, you’ve heard electronic music or songs with a major electronic influence, and you’re hearing more of it every day.
The team behind Des Moines’ EDM festival has taken something that only existed underground or in bigger cities and brought it to Des Moines. It has changed hands and grown immensely over the past 10 years, but the goal is still the same: great show, great music.
This weekend, for the second year in a row, 515 Alive will take over Brenton Skating Plaza and the surrounding area with an incredible light show, pumping sound and 5 stages. The outdoor stages will feature Electronic, House, Techno, Progressive, Trance, Dubstep and Club hits. The party starts at 4:00pm and will end by 12:30am.
Some of the best DJ’s from Des Moines and around the state come to town for this festival to play for their most loyal fans. A festival that began with DIY sets and a small crowd grew to 3,500 attendees in 2011, and the team behind the show expects even more this year.
The show is open to all ages and tickets can be purchased at the door for $20, or in advance for $15 here.
Find more information on their Facebook page.
Hope to see you on Saturday!
